The Biography of Alberti

 


Leone Battista Alberti was a Renisance humanist who is seen today as a "universal man". as a child, Leone and the rest of the Albertis were banished from their native city of Florence. Later when Leone revisited Florence his banishment was lifted in 1428. 

Growing up, Alberti recieved the best education avaliable to a nobleman. Between 1414 and 1418 he studied classes at the school of Gasparino Barzizza in Padua. Later in his life, he completed his education at the University of Bologna where he studied law and was recognized greately by many judges. Later in his twenties, Alberti wrote On the Advantages and Disadvantages of Letters, which was later dedicated to his brother who was also a writer.

Later on in Albertis life he had many different works and skills which he perfected such as Tempaio Maltestiano, an architectual work that he did. Another piece that he worked on was Santa Maria Novella in Florence.
